The word “equinox” is derived from the Latin words meaning "equal night."So why hasn't anyone told the weather fairies? We have about a foot of new snow on the ground since midnight and are expecting more today. AGH!
Wind northeast or north at noon of the vernal equinox, no fine weather before midsummer. If westerly or southwesterly, fine weather till midsummer.
